True North Advisors Offices – Dallas

Perkins+Will has designed the new offices of wealth management company True North Advisors, located in Dallas, Texas.

True North Advisors is a proud leader in the forefront of independent wealth management. With a strong focus on people and relationships, internally and with clients, they challenged our team to capture the story of their brand and develop a space that would bring their philosophies of operation into the built environment. Their newly leased penthouse suite offers sweeping views of uptown/downtown and becomes the perfect backdrop for us to craft a unique design that would offer employees and visitors, alike, a truly branded experience.

Partnering with their internal committees, our team focused on all aspects of the project including brand integration, workspace, meeting and community space, and AV. Our team established a smart integration of the program data into the available floorplan with a strong focus on the varied experiences. Most important was the integration of multiple work/meet opportunities into the floorplate while maintaining a balance of acoustical needs. We created a strong circulation path with endpoints focused on view, interjecting key functions along the path. This allowed us to divide the floorplate and achieve a light- filled open space with its own sense of separation from heads down to client-facing areas and the flexible, multi-use community zone.

True North wanted the space to reflect their modern approach to wealth management and set them apart from the competition. This was achieved by approaching the materials palette with a keen sensibility about importance, impact, and functionality. We used re ned and quality materials in key applications to help define zones and frame views which led to a dynamic space that maximized the impact of light, views, and functionality.

Key design elements include: a backlit ceiling anchoring a floating lounge group which reads “TRUE NORTH” from the street level at night; a dynamic multi-dimensional branding wall which creates a 3-D extrapolation of their logo and exposed structures juxtaposed against streamlined, modern architectural elements. Combining a subdued palette with a focus on texture and use of white to create bold contrast, the space o ers a holistic built approach to the “True North Way”. Our rm provided Programming, Workplace Strategy, Architecture, Interior Design, Furniture, Graphics, and Signage services for the project.
