  • CBRE Architecture has designed the offices of professional services firm EY, located in Madrid, Spain.

The new headquarters of EY in Madrid, are located in AZCA, the financial centre in the heart of the capital. The company has taken over the whole building, which is a unique landmark in Madrid, and it is made up of 13 office floors.

In March 2017 the new building opened its doors and presented a revolutionary office concept. This was reached through developing an open space office plan with a range of different areas for meetings and socialising, in both open and closed spaces. This is in line with new company standards for a non-hierarchical “activity-based” work model. The offices have been designed taking into account the interior environment, with the aim of developing a functional, but at the same time comfortable and cosy space to work.

There are 10 standard levels of office space with the same fit out distribution, allowing for flexibility for the future growth of the company. These floors are completed with 3 special areas which complement and characterise the headquarters: one floor for canteen and training, one for working with clients, and one dedicated to artificial intelligence, a new strategic service line provided by EY.

The main objective was to develop the project as a whole, introducing the company’s new ways of working, unifying all of its services in just one building, and thus enhancing the corporate image.
