Now Careers Offices – Sydney
Morphos has designed the offices of recruitment agency Now Careers, located in Sydney, Australia.
We wanted to create an office where employees not only feel comfortable but stimulated and excited by their environment.
Being a design focused company themselves, we felt it was important we captured this in their fit-out, creating something contemporary yet edgy that appealed to the company and their audience. Being a heritage listed site, we wanted to honour the lineage through maintaining the rich traditional elements complemented with a contemporary design approach.
An intersection of old and new entailed new building elements with the preservation of original architectural features, including high ceilings, original floor boards and ornamental cornices. These new elements contained an industrial edge with a subdued neutral pallet.
One of the fundamental outcomes of the design was to create a space that was enjoyable for employee and visitor interaction. This inviting and homely personality was instilled to encourage
potential candidates to feel comfortable and inspired for their new careers. To achieve this, an open workspace was designed to cater for multifunction zones and spaces. With an open transition between work space, meeting rooms and breakout, a sense of transparency and fluidity was created through the open-door policy design approach.
The space is light filled and the colour scheme kept neutral to allow for the hero features to stand out, shaping the industrial aesthetic. This includes oversized pendants, black aluminium trims, traditional wall panelling and an aluminium feature screen with inbuilt shelves in the reception area. Pops of the corporate colour were integrated throughout the space to give their workplace relevance to their company branding.
The result is a trendy yet functioning and vibrant work space that exudes a motivating and dynamic essence.
