The Cramer studios are located in a 70,000 square foot converted warehouse. Twenty years ago, the agency acquired their now-headquarters. In the early days, they shared the space with tenants and, as they grew, they would expand their footprint in the building. This results in an environment that functioned around isolated and often disconnected “neighborhoods.”

Cramer turned to SMMA to revitalize the warehouse’s aesthetics while reimagining how they use their space to work, collaborate with clients, and host industry events and meetups inside their studios. Plus, as an agency that delivers experiential marketing such as events and brand activations, Cramer looked to bring the materials of their business — the materials that they use for their clients’ projects — into the renovation. A realization of this goal is the prominent use of Loki Boxes, converted shipping containers that now serve as conference rooms and meeting spaces.

“Today, when a prospective client walks into our studios, the first thing they experience is the unique way our agency works,” says Brent Turner, Cramer’s senior vice president of solutions. “From how the space is designed for use—the collision spaces, work spaces, meeting spaces—to how it is designed for aesthetics—the textures, materials, lighting—to how it is designed for activity—the movement of people, the technology integrations, the conversations happening—the space is notably different than anything they have been in before.”
