Kimball’s Chicago Showroom
Kimball newly redesigned their showroom in Chicago, Illinois.
Each year we are challenged to redesign our Chicago showroom to reflect the latest workplace trends, while still telling a strong story about who we are as a brand. With this year’s showroom, we celebrated the designer as story teller. Focusing on the ability of the designer to express a client’s unique personality through the blending of space, structure and materials.
We focused heavily on the humanistic qualities that make the office a space people want to be. The warm palette of rich colors and lush textures, along with reclaimed wood and steel found in our reception station and signature design hub, blend with the natural components like the living wall in our café. These elements work together to create unique enclaves that highlight different work modes, individual retreats, and small and large meeting spaces. The personality of the showroom comes through in fun elements like foosball and a reclaimed 1950’s jukebox, as well as the custom art pieces from makers 1767 of Nashville, Printsburgh from Pittsburgh, and artist Mimi Jung of Los Angeles. This blend of artist recognition, paired with special pieces intended to bring people together, highlight the individual and celebrate local style and craft.
Above everything else, our main goal this year was to create a space where designers and end users can come to be inspired, and where we can work together to create the best space for them that reflects their own story.
