  • iDEA designed the new office spaces of the Oil & Gas Authority / OFWAT, located in London, England.

We were appointed to help this water industry regulator & The Oil & Gas Authority consolidate their central London offices by 50% and create a vibrant, flexible space for agile workers.

For OFWAT, features such as a shared work/eat/meet lounge provide contingency work and project space during the peak periods. By removing dedicated offices to the external windows, we have been able to create an open, light filled shared team space with pops of bright colours and bold landscape graphics.

Our work for OGA followed a successful implementation of their Aberdeen offices. We were reappointed to create an agile work ‘hub’ for them in Central London.

Envisaged as a base for visiting teams from Aberdeen and a drop-in location for client teams, this design is focussed around a work/meet lounge ‘gateway’ which follows a similar palette of light, warm, vibrant colours and materials as the Aberdeen site. Team spaces are flexible with non-assigned desks, resource library areas and a variety of other worksettings for teams to share.

Both organisations wanted to support staff with maximum flexibility to enable them to take control of their work environment and have a choice of worksettings to best suit their needs. Both workspaces have been well received and have supported the business strategies. In particular for newly formed organisation, OGA, the workspace has supported recruitment and the office is thriving!

Sustainable solutions were selected for finishes and materials where possible- in fact more than 50% of furniture was retained and re-purposed, or redeployed in other offices.
