Shimano Offices – Eindhoven
Fokkema & Partners designed the offices of bicycle company Shimano, located in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
The Japanese multinational Shimano is market leader in the development and production of high quality bicycle components, fishing tackle and rowing equipment. For the European head office at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, Fokkema & Partners made an interior design with the company’s mission statement in mind: ‘to promote health and happiness through the enjoyment of nature and the world around us’.
While providing the physical space to experience Shimano’s products and services, the design generates mental space for employees to create dedicated campaigns for Shimano in Europe. Complementary to the new building (designed by RAU) the interior design has a technologically advanced look-and-feel. Vistas on nature provide the perfect backdrop for the crisp atmosphere invoked by the simplicity of the design.
In a workshop on the top floor new products and techniques are developed which will eventually be on display for visitors in the business center on the ground floor. Beside the interior design, Fokkema & Partners conducted the project management and developed the activity based workplace concept.
