The Points Guy Offices – New York City
TPG Architecture designed the offices of travel guide agency The Points Guy, located in New York City, New York.
Following the success of Bankrate’s office at 1675 Broadway, TPG was engaged by the client to design the new workplace for The Points Guy, one of Bankrate’s most popular digital platforms. Launched by Brian Kelly in 2010, The Points Guy is an online resource that offers travel advice and professional tips on making the most of airline points and miles.
Formerly co-locating in a WeWork facility, this 7,700 square foot space at 251 Park Avenue represents the brand’s first “real” office. The company settled on this building because it offered them a fresh canvas, featuring exposed ceilings, polished concrete floors, and a modern infrastructure. Accommodating 35 employees, the workplace is comprised primarily of open workstations and a few glass-fronted private offices which house the executive team. The office is bright and airy, with a considerable amount of space designed to promote collaboration among the team.
A custom millwork element runs nearly the length of the entire office, providing an artful backdrop to reception and discrete collaboration zones. Travel-inspired graphics, including an interactive world map that allows staff to denote the far-flung places they have visited, were developed by TPG’s Branding & Graphics Studio and are incorporated throughout the space. While the design team was able to utilize many of the most successful and distinguishing elements of the Bankrate office on this project, the ultimate result is a one-of-a-kind space befitting of The Points Guy’s travel-oriented brand.
