MOJEH Magazine Offices – Dubai
Swiss Bureau Interior Design designed the offices for fashion magazine MOJEH, located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
MOJEH Magazine reports on the latest trends in men’s and women’s fashion from around the globe. As the MOJEH team in Dubai began to outgrow their space, MOJEH engaged Swiss Bureau to facilitate a workplace reinvent on for its new Dubai offices. SBID worked hand in hand with the magazines CEO, Mojeh Izadpanah and her team to carefully structure the delivery of a workplace experience that reflected their brand and ethos. The client wanted an office where they could invite top fashion brands such as Prada, Louis Vutton and Cartier. Also they mentioned wanting a bright and clean design with light materials and fashion photography.
Created in 2011, in response to a burgeoning market of stylish and sophisticated women within the Middle East who desired a high-end fashion and lifestyle resource to match their vibrant lifestyles, MOJEH is the go-to fashion resource for luxury at its finest. Stylish, sophisticated and elegant, the new workplace had to reflect the same ethos. By fusing international style with a Middle Eastern element, MOJEH reflects the desires of its loyal readership. The brief given for the design of the offices for this Dubai based fashion editorial company was to create a bright, functional and well-planned interior that stimulates creativity.
The place has a clean, warm and unique appeal which distinguishes itself through the simplicity of its materials. White marble, gold paint and black metal work perfectly together to bring that simplistic elegant chic style that the office needed. The concept for the space consisted of monolithic blocks of marble that would form the walls that divides the space. These blocks each had their own function integrated and ranged from video wall, bench, bookcase and printer station. Upon arriving, the visitors walk into a long tunnel flanked with walls clad in a smooth leather like pale neutral fabric, with a long running champagne colored niche in the center housing the 12 issues of the magazine released in the past year. The tunnel leads to the reception – a bright airy space encapsulated in curved glass and white marble.
The meeting room is a key space for MOJEH’s clientele, and had to be an impressive space. A beautiful white marble table, with brushed brass inlays and modern Poltrona Frau chairs adorn the bright corner room with the best views to Downtown Dubai. A large circular chandelier hangs from the white ceiling making the room feel larger than it is. Adjescent to this meeting space is the Open Pantry with a long black marble table to conduct client and staff meetings. The library lounge with its curved display case sits as a feature within the space that grabs immediate aSenLon. The back of this bookcase is what the client calls her “Beauty box” – a space to important products from their key brands. The team would occasionally use this area to film their videos and talk about latest releases in the world of make up and accessories.
Close to the lounge are other management offices, the Director’s office and the photo studio with a custom design closet. The materials used are light and bright. White Italian marble on the floor and wall together with bent glass walls and brushed brass details give the space a luxurious feeling. The functions within the marble monoliths are finished in metallic gold paint, glass or fabric and house the following functions; printer unit, sealing bench, bookcases, screen walls and storage units. The entire office has been designed according to principles of Vastu to increase performance of employees, improve energetic flow and to create a well balanced office space where employees feel productive and at ease.
