Carvana Offices – Tempe
RSP Architects designed the new offices for growing used car online platform company Carvana, located in Tempe, Arizona.
In just four years, start-up company Carvana expanded to forty markets, which resulted in an urgent need for four times the office space. But not just any office space. Space dynamic enough to support this booming eCommerce platform for buying used cars. Carvana execs wanted new space they wouldn’t outgrow right away, space that was flexible, expandable and supported their recruitment and retention of highly-skilled employees. Our solution was a fluid environment for both corporate staff and call center employees. The single location reflects the energy and vibrancy of Carvana’s brand while embracing and encouraging the company’s innovative and collaborative culture.
An industrial palette is balanced with warm residential accents to encourage employee socializing and collaboration. Relaxation space is found throughout the workplace with club-like lounge furniture, finishes and fixtures. Walls become works of art, covered in colorful murals riddled with playful core value statements. Use of glass throughout the design provides ample daylight as well as transparency without neglecting the need for private spaces. Elements of surprise include library shelves that open to reveal a hidden bar and a game room hidden behind chain-link curtains.
