  • Setter Architects created a transportation inspired design for ride-sharing company, Via, located in Tel Aviv, Israel.

High-tech company Via is at the forefront of the world-wide urban transportation revolution, changing the way people get from place to place. The company has developed a smart operating system that re-engineers public transport. Instead of a fixed system of routes and inflexible timetables, Via offers a dynamic and efficient network that adapts itself to the roads’ demands and conditions, and calculates the quickest route in real-time. Its operating system links several people traveling in the same direction, and lets them share premium vehicles at attractive prices. Via’s technology is up and running across the world.

The design concept for Via’s offices derived from the content world of collaborative transport-sharing. We designed the offices’ public area as an urban space: with exposed concrete walls, map and route graphics, claddings symbolizing urban rhythms, wooden moldings that line the walls of conference rooms and booths, the steel window-profile partitions with integrated plantings, and the use of slogans and vibrant colors from the company’s branding and content world.

The conference rooms, phone booths and workstation were designed in a warmer, more intimate style, symbolizing the home and private spaces, with parquet floors and carpets. Integrated in the workstations’ screens are cork and whiteboards, with wooden and metal partitions that set apart the public space from private areas.

The design of the cafeterias was inspired by city patio, reflected in the flooring that resembles street flagstones, and clusters of lighting elements.
