  • Amenta Emma Architects has realized the new collaborative work environment for mobile app developer, Prolific Interactive, located in New York City, New York.

A space with breathtaking views and a design that creates an open, collaborative work environment is a buzzing incubator for Prolific Interactive, a developer of mobile apps for a who’s-who client portfolio, including Saks Fifth Avenue, American Express, SoulCycle, Scott’s Miracle Gro, Alex and Ani, David’s Bridal, Lilly Pulitzer and more.

The company, which has experienced phenomenal growth in the last several years, just tripled space to 12,000 square feet and doubled its workforce to 100. With the new headquarters in the DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge) section of Brooklyn, the innovators vacated a dark cubicled space with no conference room to occupy its new environment, which capitalizes on maintaining uninhibited views of the NYC skyline and Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, while creating a combination of work spaces. These include a glass core conference room and huddle rooms, while keeping the majority of the exterior window walls for employee work areas, complete with stadium seating and stand/sit opportunities for working. A large, open work café doubles as the meeting space, often used for events and live streaming. It’s location acts as the hinge point for the work areas, offering access to all but maintaining acoustical privacy from the remaining office area.

Designers quickly visualized the ideal and respected the company’s desire for “honest” materials, selecting a mix of natural materials, polished concrete floors and exposed structure to create a timeless and exciting environment reflective of the energy and creativity of this design firm.
