  • Valmont was engaged by Scottish Pacific Business Finance to design their new offices located in Sydney, Australia.

The brief from Scottish Pacific was to create a new workplace in the iconic 1 Bligh St Sydney that embodies the evolving future strategy of their brand and exemplify the current values and future approach represented through a truly bespoke and flexible environment.

The final design outcome needed to provide a better chance for collaboration and connectivity within the workplace and provide a forum for employees and clients. It was important to the client that the space expressed flexibility and transparency as these elements best reflected the ethos of the organization, this was achieved through carefully crafted spaces that provide opportunity for teamwork and chance encounters.

1 Bligh St Sydney is a uniquely shaped building, its elliptical pan allows for excellent natural light penetration. This study of the building ultimately lead to the decision to emulate the natural curves of the building in order to maximize natural light.

The large floor plate leant itself to a central client & employee lounge, staff forum and kitchen that lead from the reception and boardroom. The flow on from the reception and boardroom to the central hub promotes the notion of transparency and inclusion, providing opportunity for large town hall meetings and social gatherings for both employees and clients.

The selection of furniture and joinery was paramount in achieving an adaptable and multifunctional workspace. The staff forum houses a variety of flexible furniture and joinery that can be moved to suit the assorted styles of meetings and social activities essentially fostering a culture of social engagement and interaction.
