  • Genius Loci Architettura designed the new offices for Lendlease, multinational construction, property and infrastructure company, located in Milan, Italy.

The design concept for the new LendLease offices in Milan is based on the key principles of the Company, mixed together with sustainability values and the linear geometries of Giò Ponti, the designer of the building where the offices are located.

An innovative way of working where spaces are not separated but usable in continuity with each other, always respecting of the company requirements. GLA has envisioned a new layout for the office spaces connecting them in a flexible yet defined way.

The main connective space is characterized by the big bench centrally located in the open space. The two big team-tables follow a curved path for a total length of 16 meters. The furniture is totally realized in wood hence recalling the idea of a big tree laid horizontally in the space, as an allegory of nature and sustainable values of LendLease.

The “Break” and “Client” spaces are an homage to Giò Ponti: the famous ceramic tiles “Blu Ponti” are decorating the interiors by means of their composite geometries.

Almost no false-ceilings have been utilized in the project: the mechanical installations are exposed in full sight and they are carefully placed in their original locations as conceived by Ponti, passing through the pierced beams of the building. These have been brought back to the view of the users hence reinforcing the link between the original design of the building and its new contemporary soul.
