  • Tétris has completed the playful design of the SCALEWAY offices, an online hosting company, located in Lille, France.

Scaleway was first based in Paris, in a 3000 sqm. private mansion. To accelerate its growth, Scaleway launched a recruitment campaign to welcome 250 new developers and to open new “houses” in France. The first one opened its doors in Lille.

The company has therefore invested premises of 1,200 m², to accommodate roughly 100 people. Here again, the building is a classified heritage mansion and is full of charming details: visible stones, fireplace, wooden floor. Scaleway is always looking for “The atypical” to attract new talents and to differentiate themselves in the world of tech.

We’ve worked hand in hand together to create the perfect place for them to experiment a new kind of well-being at the office and push the limits of reasonable spaces. To begin with, we’ve worked on this masterpiece “cloud room”, the cloud being the heart of their activity, this space had a deep emotional meaning for them.

After the sky and its clouds, the experience continues in the jungle, full of plants and green wallpaper. The teams can come and work in the middle of palm trees and other exotic plants. And here and there, monkey figurines act as lights. In each room, details were meticulously treated by Amaury Watine, Creative Director and Daphne Bykhovetz, Project Manager, so the walkthrough is fully immersive.

To get a printout, you must go and collect it into the “dungeon”. A large and existing rift on the wall has been kept and highlighted as a trace of the past. Reprography is happening in presence of a skeleton and its pulley. Beyond the history of the building, Tetris was inspired by the company itself, and its activity. This approach has given birth to an amazing sculpture: a giant tree has taken root in the stairwell. Fully made of CAT6 network cables, it’s a nice wink to Scaleway’s activity.

Another room, another mood: the Duck room. That was initially a bathroom. Tetris wanted to keep this spirit and cut a bathtub in two to make them armchairs, placed among thousands of ducks! The company operates as a flex office with no personal workstation. This allows the teams to both collaborate more and unleash the creativity of everyone by changing the work environment.
