Symantec Experience Center – Mountain View
Symantec's new Experience Center in Mountain View is the ultimate inner sanctum—a sophisticated, warm space that showcases unparalleled security in an elevated hospitality setting.
Gensler has completed the offices and experience center for Symantec, a cyber security company, located in Mountain View, California.
The main double height lobby was refreshed and a secondary security layer was added to create a secure entrance. The lobby is connected to the Experience Center by a portal that provides a transformative pass-through experience. As guests enter the portal, bronze mirror-covered walls surround them, reflecting an infinity loop of ever-shifting hues—creating an experiential moment.
The Experience Center includes multiple hospitality suites, meeting/dining rooms, briefing rooms, demo areas, pre-function spaces and restrooms, as well as a multi-functional outdoor space. Each room feels warm and unique, while still connecting to a sense of security. The design includes distinctly original and innovative materials, finishes, furniture, and lighting in each space.
As the client often hosts different groups of guests simultaneously, all areas of the Experience Center provide a sense of confidentiality and seamless hospitality. Secure hospitality suites offer direct and private access to adjacent briefing rooms. Meeting/dining rooms are equipped with pass-through doors for seamless food and beverage service, without compromising confidentiality or causing interruption. Additionally, all areas can be customized for each visiting group including, digitally displaying guest branding. The outdoor space, home to a large metal beehive, provides an ideal touch point for casual meetings—a gathering space for employees and clients to relax around the concrete firepit, connect, and share ideas.
