  • OPENBOOK Architecture and Vector Mais have collaborated in renovating the offices for global technology giant, Microsoft, located in Lisbon, Portugal.

Housed in one of the most emblematic buildings in the Parque das Nações neighbourhood, Lisbon, the Microsoft headquarters was renovated by Vector Mais with an architectural project by Openbook. The new office reflects the culture implemented by Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, and the changes that have taken place over the last few years in how people work and the company’s own business.

Human connectivity was the starting point for the architecture and interior design project of Microsoft Portugal’s building, focusing on maximizing wellbeing and human interaction. Through the spatial reconstruction of the building’s interior comprising four floors, it was possible to promote encounters and collaboration in a comfortable and informal environment, along with a sense of harmony between man and technology.

Now the headquarters has more than 500 workstations, 105 meeting and collaboration rooms, phone booths, lounges and cafeterias, all developed with a strong spirit of functionality and sustainability.

The introduction of textures and details of Portuguese culture defines the space, making it original and unique, in opposition to the trend of global standardization.
