  • Turman Romano recently completed the Kryon System‘s offices, a full-cycle automation company, located in Tel Aviv, Israel.

The challenging layout of a 4 stories office space for a company with a very social work culture, inspired the vision for the architectural planning and design.

The aim was to create a social and connective environment, that will overcome the separating levels. Turman Romano created a vertical space between the different stories, right above the main social area of the company. Accentuated by a custom designed lighting fixture, this vertical common space ties the whole office together.

The main social area is the heart of the office and is defined by a sitting fixture sunk in the ground floor. It is surrounded by the dining area and kitchen, and leads to the office yard. A steel framed gallery was constructed at the Entrance level to connect the management offices together, and to allow high ceilings at the public areas.

The industrial feel of the high concrete ceilings and the steel framing is balanced with wooden floors, custom carpentry, plantation and use of neutral colored textile.

To create a homey feel for the employees, cosy small living rooms and cactus gardens were integrated in the design, to serve as mediators between public areas and private office spaces. These create various spaces for the employees to connect and collaborate. In between the open space work areas, different concept booths were designed as secret napping hideaways for the employees, or for private conversations.
