Adidas Offices – Manchester
TSK Group was tasked by Adidas, the global sporting brand, to design their new UK offices located in Manchester, England.
Adidas is one of the world’s most famous brands, and it prides itself on designing and developing the best products for health and wellness and creating the best experience for its customers. TSK’s brief was to create a UK headquarters for adidas that reflected that mission and provided the same environment for their people.
Adidas wanted their new workplace in Manchester to put employees at the heart, to energise and inspire the 460-strong team and improve their performance and wellbeing.
TSK worked closely with the adidas team over ten months to co-create a workplace that would encourage communication and collaboration, drive innovation and boost productivity. They engaged adidas employees throughout the entire process, with “Design Influencers” appointed from every level of the business, to ensure the space was fully designed around the people using it every day.
The design brings adidas into the workplace. The use of branding was applied minimally but with impact, this complete with ‘honest’ materials to reflect their identity, creates an immersive journey throughout.
TSK broke down existing barriers and silos driven by architecture, replacing them with neighbourhoods that flow out from huge central ‘arena’, perfect for informal meetings, breakouts, and work scrums. The design creates connections between the teams and allows more collaborative activities to happen close to the core of the building.
The layout then graduates to features for quieter and more focussed work, including bespoke meetings rooms that have taken inspiration from the world of sport, and touchdown areas creating an agile approach to working that enables adidas’ people work in a way that suits them.
With health and wellbeing at the heart of its proposition, natural materials, monochromatic colours, and planting schemes have been incorporated throughout the design. The workplace houses a retreat space, gym, and wellbeing services on site to help create connected environment that fuels the infectious energy that helps give adidas its competitive edge.
