  • CannonDesign recently designed a new 35,000-sf workspace to support creative solutions for their team in the heart of downtown Buffalo, New York.

The state-of-the-art space is a showcase destination for the firm and a hub for collaboration and ingenuity.

Truly in the heart of Buffalo’s downtown, the new workplace sits at the nexus of two important streets in the city: Main and Chippewa, just footsteps from the city’s transit line and business and theater districts. This location better connects CannonDesign to the city and allows our staff to drive, ride or bike to work.

Inside, the space offers new wellness amenities including showers, a mother’s room, a large cafe, bicycle storage, sit/stand desks for everyone and more. Beyond the company’s own workplace, the building connects their people to a gym, indoor and outdoor community space and numerous restaurants via the Mezzanine level and surrounding area.

The workspace embraces an open floor design with assigned desks for our nearly 190+ teammates and very few private offices. Surrounding the work areas are a diverse array of huddle rooms, teaming spaces, meeting rooms and formal and informal collaboration zones. The diverse spaces allow staff to choose how and where they work to best suit their personal needs. A central cafe brings people together for work and socialization during the workday and can also host client or community events.

The new office also features an intelligent lighting and building experience system designed by CannonDesign that is the first-of-its-kind in the northeast region. The technology provides a completely customizable network of lighting, temperature, ambient control, acoustic tuning and room scheduling controls that increase staff performance and comfort in new ways.
