Located in the commercial district in the north of the city of Trento, EF Solare Italia’s new headquarters occupies an entire level of an industrial building dating back to the 1960s, which has been completely redeveloped and overlooks the surrounding countryside and mountains. The view is made possible by the large glazed openings that punctuate the space, which covers about 700 square metres: its interior design was conceived by architect Danilo Vespier, who created a complex layout of private offices, large open work islands, meeting rooms and collective recreation areas, alternating with basins containing plants and vegetation. The L-shaped layout in which the new office of the company, a leader in the supply of solar energy equipment, is inserted, pursues the utmost formal cleanliness and a layout capable of optimising the contribution of natural light to guarantee users’ well-being and comfort.

To this purpose, the service blocks have been placed along the blind walls and also include a printer and archive room, which results a free and optimised working area. For these, partition walls made of glass and light colours were used: white metal ceilings with integrated continuous line LED lighting are alternated with portions treated with light wood strips, which allow air to circulate and conceal the installations. The floors, like the furnishings, have a bleached oak finish: they are raised so that the cables can be concealed in their cavity and are easy to remove for inspection.

The entire horizontal surface, made of 60×60 cm panels in calcium sulphate with a custom 8-strip wood finish and treated with ecological varnish, was supplied by Nesite on the basis of the architect’s choices, who also involved the company for its Interior division.

Despite the fact that only 6 months were needed between the project and the end of the building site, Danilo Vespier preferred entirely made-to-measure solutions to create a representative space, designed and built entirely around the client’s needs. The large oval table for meetings and the open space workstations were designed, prototyped and built thanks to the collaboration of Nesite Interior, which acted as general contractor, also taking care of the stationary furniture, cabinets, divisions, wooden partitions and metal ceilings.

Thanks to its expertise in major international architectural projects and the guidance of Simone Piva, designer and craftsman specialised in product engineering, the Padua-based company is structured to offer a contract service, to which it adds great attention to the sustainability of the supply and solutions provided. Focus to the environment was in fact one of the key drivers for the EF Solare headquarters for both Danilo Vespier and Nesite Interior, which worked in direct contact to deliver a space where the theme of energy saving blends with healthy, low-impact materials and a functional layout organised to ensure maximum benefit for those who live in it.
