Illumio is a security software company that develops applications to help protect cloud-based and hosted software systems. Their business is fast-moving and competitive. We have completed 2 projects for them to date. Their rapid growth prompted the need for a new corporate headquarters to meet the demands of their growing workforce. The new headquarters features a welcoming two-story lobby with adjacent meeting rooms and coffee area for visitors.

The original building had a drop ceiling that hid the clearstory windows. By opening the ceiling, we were able to bring more natural light into the space. The design goal was to reflect a fun active environment throughout the space. The colors are derived from their established marketing/branding guidelines.

The office features a variety of collaboration areas including a large multi-use break area connected to an outdoor patio with roll up doors for indoor-outdoor connections. This space that can be reconfigured for all hand’s meetings, product presentations or daily meals.

All employees sit in the open office areas, so a variety of meetings rooms were provided for various size meetings, one on ones, or quiet spaces. A library/quiet room was added as a no-talk space for people to not be distracted by the open space and to work in an acoustically pleasing space.

White boards are sprinkled in collaboration areas throughout the space for discussions and engagement showing what teams are working on and areas to display work or creative designs. Overall the space is a collaborative work environment that is flexible and engaging.
