After four years of extensive renovation, the Kongresshaus Zürich will reopen its doors in the summer of 2021 for business, culture, art and gastronomy. Rüegg-Naegeli was allowed to take over the planning and design of the office space of the Kongresshaus Zürich AG.

The building complex in the vibrant center of the city of Zurich is a significant building of Swiss architecture and includes the Kongresshaus as well as the Tonhalle Zurich. The team’s offices are spread over various levels and areas of the large building and were also made more attractive as part of the refurbishment. The focus was on the well-being of the employees. They were to be offered office space that not only met today’s ergonomic and flexibility requirements, but also promoted identity and a sense of belonging. To this end, the employees were involved in the process right from the start and also had a certain say in the design. For example, different wallpapers were predefined as part of the concept and the teams were then allowed to select the appropriate variant for their office. Existing and new office furniture optimally rounded off the interior design.

Personal workstations, meeting rooms, lounges and reception area: an office space with individual character and modern office furniture has been created for the operating team of the Kongresshaus Zürich, which meets both the needs of the employees and the design requirements of the decision-makers.
