The Cubic becomes the epicenter of the Bühler Innovations Campus. The two-storey steel skeleton building with dimensions of fifty by fifty meters rests on the one hand on a newly created access core with connecting bridges to the high-rise buildings and the customer center, on the other hand on the modernized test halls. In order to meet the desired flexibility of the Innovation Center, load-bearing elements, stairs, elevators and technical connections are concentrated on just three concrete cores. Together with three patios and three double-storey halls, these cores define the center of the Cubic.

Around these fixed components, an open spatial landscape is arranged in a ring on two floors. Converted shipping containers, lounge-like furniture and flexible workspaces create a relaxed atmosphere and break with the conventions of classic office building towards a highly modern co-working space, a place for collaborative research and development. The building accommodates the project teams of employees, start-ups, students and teachers on three levels. In addition to exciting spatial structures, the building achieves an intelligent synthesis of flexibility and sustainability certified with the Leed Gold Label. Behind the industrial atmosphere, which is caused by the bare steel construction, hides an innovative building technology as well as a smart building automation. The load-bearing trapezoidal sheet metal of the ceiling fulfills room acoustic functions and accommodates the entire heating and cooling system.
