Chevron Technology Ventures (CTV) aims to discover and integrate externally developed technologies and new business solutions in order to potentially enhance the production and delivery of affordable, reliable, and clean energy. Therefore, the location and design of the Chevron Technology Ventures Suite at the Ion are centered on the themes of networking and advanced technology. As a tenant of the Ion, an epicenter for accelerating innovation and connecting communities, the employees of CTV can collaborate with other talents, companies, and institutions located within Houston’s newly established Innovation District. Moreover, the team sought to design the CTV Suite as an environment dedicated to embracing flexibility and fostering innovation by purposefully creating multiple types of meeting spaces for both external and internal collaboration.

Upon entry, guests are greeted by a Chevron-branded biophilia wall accented by various artifacts showcasing Chevron’s rich history in the energy industry. Because the CTV Suite is devoted to being an innovative think tank, the design team envisioned meeting rooms for multiple functions, from holding team meetings for project collaboration to hosting case competitions and recruiting events. The open concept of the CTV Suite and the incorporation of more lifestyle features, such as the coffee bar and social areas, encourage opportunities for team bonding and prompt casual interactions within the office.

The emphasis on ingenuity and collaboration is reflected through the design of the CTV Suites, which serves as the model for a new way of working within Chevron’s workplace of the future strategy.
