PwC, one of the world’s top-notch professional services firms, faced a digitalized marketplace full of opportunities and challenges. Its Shanghai office made a bold decision at the time of the epidemic outbreak. “Reimagine life”, based on the existing design of the Xintiandi office will expand to Qiantan, a new Shanghai CBD full of vibrancy and potential. iDA and PwC worked together to reimagine the future office from the perspective of culture, technology, space, and facilities, building a more comfortable, more convenient, and more innovative working environment.

Front of House, the reception area creates a unique immersive experience with the perfect fusion of bold, contemporary visual images and space. Standing on the escalator, you’re treated to a variety or views, shapes, colors, and forms in every direction. The winding staircase runs through the two floors, integrating functional spaces for rest and gathering, and condenses into a staircase space with the language of architecture. The PwC Café allows employees to grab a bite to eat or drink and catch up with their colleagues in a fun, bright space. The FCS Center, which provides more intimate and comprehensive staff services, is the future of facility development. Work Club is a brand-new office concept, offering a space for everyone to kickstart their day with a fresh coffee.

The versatile open space gives everyone in the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking view of the Huangpu River. The space adopts the tide-based strategy, which allows the area to be as flexible as needed depending on how many people are trying to utilize that space at a given time.

Power rails have been incorporated throughout the space allowing endless configurations; training room, cafeteria, office space, and more. An online booking system, intelligent lighting and environmental controls create a comfortable and convenient office experience.

As the largest office project in Qiantan, PwC has successfully completed its office despite the challenges of the epidemic. It does not shrink back, does not forget its original aspiration, and opens up a new future with confidence!
