  • Assembledge+ designed the second office space for gNet located in Los Angeles, California.

Strategy-led and content-focused, gNet, a creative agency and a production studio, engaged Assembledge+ to oversee their expansion to a brand-new headquarters in the Miracle Mile neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Spanning one and a half floors in the Miracle Mile Tower, the office is designed with the mission in mind to meet the company’s needs in addressing flexibility with the objective of fostering an open and transparent work culture that is a magnet for creativity, collaboration, and communication.

Positioned around three primary landmarks visible from the suite – DTLA, the Hollywood Hills, and the Pacific Ocean – the communal areas, as well as private offices and meeting rooms, are organized around the perimeter of the building to take advantage of the panoramic views and natural light. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls and doors bring daylight to the interior, providing a luminous environment and democratic access to views while at the same time maintaining acoustical privacy.

Seating areas along corridors allow opportunities for a casual gathering or moments of repose, while shared meeting rooms provide the employees, clients, and board members with private and formal settings. Large, glass pocketing doors impart a sense of openness and continuity between the boardroom, reception, and workstations.

Flexibility was one of the core design principles. Most working desks and infrastructure inside the office allow for reconfiguration, whereby the office can expand and shrink without feeling too crowded and empty. Such planning accounts for twofold; the creative agency model of seeking a temporary, project-based talent and the hybrid model of working remotely from the office.

The design incorporates existing polished concrete floors and an exposed ceiling with a muted palette of natural birch and charcoal, providing a unifying element throughout the space. Strategic use of color throughout the common areas references landmarks and vistas unique to the particular space within the building.
