Design Collective created a unique and visually appealing workspace for Rockbridge, resembling the high-end concepts of the private hospitality investment firm, with lush greenery, natural light, and various seating opportunities.
Design Collective designed an eye-catching space for the Rockbridge offices in Columbus, Ohio.
Rockbridge, a private hospitality investment firm, engaged Design Collective to create a unique workplace in their 30,000-square-foot headquarters that resembles one of their numerous high-end concepts. The entrance, surrounded by glowing luminaries and lush greenery, is reminiscent of a luxurious restaurant or hotel, serving as an immediate representation of the company’s culture. Welcome to the jungle, where the workday begins.
Rockbridge’s operational activities are centered around the lounge, bar, and two-story atrium. The space is designed for collaboration and invites employees and guests to explore and find moments of surprise and delight. The upper-level mezzanine connects the second and third floors with large, open staircases that frame either side while providing substantial natural light through the sawtooth skylights.
The open office features direct access to natural light, connectivity to others, and height adjustable workstations encouraging movement and posture changes throughout the day, promoting a healthy lifestyle. With flourishing greenery and large interior garage doors that give access to fresh air, this office creates invigorating surroundings that connect employees to the outdoors. The Rock – Fitness Center is open to both employees and family members of Rockbridge. They also offer instructor-led classes and post friendly fitness challenges to promote movement. In addition, there are many placemaking spaces throughout each floor that offer various types of seating opportunities. These spaces act like small getaways from one’s desk.
Rockbridge tasked Design Collective with creating a workplace rooted in hospitality that felt like stepping into one of their hotel experiences. Each space is uniquely curated and plays homage to each of their exclusive hotel personalities. Hospitality has continually reinvented itself by embracing transformations and meeting consumer needs. People desire to be part of a community and have the ability to curate their lives – which Rockbridge wholly embraces, and their new workplace fully embodies.
