  • Global beauty icon Coty had initially planned to relocate, expand and rebrand their Australian headquarters to align with their new visual identity. However, after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, they decided to stay in their original location and reduce their floorspace. Coty needed a design and fitout partner who could create a contemporary, adaptable office to suit the new hybrid working reality.

The Amicus Design team worked closely with Coty to create a homelike yet fresh office to ease the transition from working from home. The design of the space was integral to conveying the essence of the Coty brand. Incorporating the Coty navy with brass accents, the space has an opulent, feminine feel.

The flow of the office leads down a ‘runway’ bordered with brass edged tiered shelving and posters showcasing many of their products and ends in a statement kitchen/breakout space. Details like custom designed joinery, marble splash backs and statement lighting fixtures elevate the space while still working firmly to the set budget.

Efficiently working with the new reduced floorspace, set desks were discarded making way for hot desking, smaller meeting rooms and an agile boardroom which could be used to host events and client meetings.

Acoustics were considered, ensuring that all meeting areas and call rooms were soundproof. The Amicus Technology team sustainably reused much of Coty’s existing equipment to reduce cost and introduced new room booking panels, cameras, speakers and microphones to create plug-and-play conference areas.

The new Coty office refurbishment is consistent with global branding while also being a pleasing space to work and host clients. The office is hybrid work enabled, agile and dynamic, creating an inviting and functional space for years to come.
