  • Since 1993, Desmone has called Two Doughboy Square, formerly the Pennsylvania National Bank Building, its home. This move was a pivotal moment for the company, coinciding with Lawrenceville’s downturn amidst an economic depression triggered by the decline of manufacturing. Facing imminent demolition, Desmone intervened, undertaking the renovation of the historic structure, erected in 1902, and repurposing it as their office space. Collaborating with local economic development entities, Desmone became instrumental in the area’s revitalization.

Nearly three decades later, Lawrenceville stands as a beacon of resurgence—a vibrant hub boasting cultural diversity, economic prosperity, and inclusivity. As Desmone burgeoned, outgrowing its original 7,500 square feet headquarters, the company embarked on a visionary expansion project, planning a 15,000 square feet office addition and renovation to the historic bank building.

This expansion wasn’t just about accommodating growth; it was a testament to Desmone’s unwavering commitment to fostering environments where people thrive. Consequently, pursuing WELL Gold Certification—a prestigious recognition for designs prioritizing occupants’ health and well-being—was a natural progression for Desmone. Their Pittsburgh office epitomizes the region’s remarkable capacity for reinvention and rejuvenation, embodying a narrative of resilience and transformation.
