Veson Nautical Offices – Singapore
ID21 designed and built Veson Nautical’s new Singapore headquarters with a strong nautical theme, featuring design elements like a ship’s hull reception counter, office bleacher, and decorative wall displays.
Veson Nautical, a premier provider of commercial maritime software and services, set up its Singapore office in 2008. On the occasion of its 15th year in this city-state, the company engaged ID21 to design and build its new Singapore headquarters. Leveraging our keen experience in working with clients from the maritime industry, we created an engaging environment that promotes a strong sense of identity, drives collaboration, and encourages the return to work.
Drawing inspiration from the company’s nature of business, our design is anchored on a nautical narrative. This is brought to life through design elements reminiscent of topography, ripples and waves, and related features such as a ship’s bell and meeting rooms named after ship vessels.
The reception area initiates visitors with a counter shaped like a ship’s hull, and a wall map creatively fashioned from sound-absorbing materials. Veson Nautical’s corporate colours – navy blue and orange – adorn the space, complemented by soothing hues of grey.
The back of house is a light-filled open space with a double-height ceiling. To make the most of this feature, we designed an office bleacher crafted from plywood with concrete and wood laminate finish. Positioned at the heart of the back of house to provide ease of access and serve as a gathering point, the bleacher offers a flexible auditorium-style space for presentations, impromptu meetings and collaboration.
Adjacent to the bleacher is a spacious pantry area with plenty of seating options for work or socialisation, from bench seating and a high table with bar stools, to a long communal table with inviting hanging lights. Here, a small kitchenette with a snack and coffee section adds to the café-style vibe.
Further ahead, a modular vertical wall shelving system accentuates the soaring ceiling height while offering a decorative display of award trophies, certifications, commemorative photos, and memorabilia. Nearby, a values wall and a dart board made from acoustic panels inject a sense of vibrancy with Veson Nautical’s distinctive corporate colours, matching the wall map at the reception area.
In building Veson Nautical’s new workplace, we maximised the benefits of a double-height ceiling and addressed its related challenges by incorporating wall features, strategic lighting, and motorised blinds. The space is a true testament to the company’s dynamic culture, with colours, materials and nautical-inspired elements coming together to create a cohesive look and feel. The end result is an inspiring office that sparks a renewed interest in returning to work.
