Greater Chicago Food Depository Offices – Chicago
Partners by Design transformed Greater Chicago Food Depository’s office and warehouse with unique design elements and branding, supporting growth and community connections in a new, LEED Certified meal preparation facility.
For their 269,000 SF office and warehouse renovation, Greater Chicago Food Depository trusted Partners by Design in creating a space that included unique elements of design and branding (created with branding parter, Spark) to tie into the Food Depository mission and brand. The renovation allowed for growth, cultivation, and connection within not only the volunteers and employees of the organization, but the community as well.
As the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) continues to serve the community in Cook County, the organization realized its existing space was unable to support growing demands. Following the successful renovation of its existing facility, GCFD selected PBD to be the architect for the addition of a new, LEED Certified meal preparation facility adjacent to the organization’s current site. PBD worked with GCFD to design a ground-up facility that will house conference/event space, a test kitchen and a cafe, and the site will connect with its existing facility. The building is intended to provide GCFD with additional infrastructure to support its growing educational work and community partners.
