DENTON redesigned Freeths LLP’s Leeds office, creating a modern and sustainable workspace that reflects the law firm’s brand through features like a central hub, sophisticated meeting rooms, and local art influences.
Transforming the Workspace for Freeths LLP in Leeds
As one of the UK’s leading law firms, Freeths LLP needed to expand its Leeds office to better serve its growing team and evolving work culture. The firm moved to a new site that offered a basic setup but required a complete redesign to reflect its brand and ethos. DENTON, building on the successful partnership with Freeths during their Sheffield office project, took on this challenge with enthusiasm.Designing an Agile and Brand-Reflective Environment
The design team at DENTON aimed to reimagine the existing space, turning it into a functional and vibrant workplace that aligns with Freeths’ brand identity. A key priority was sustainability, with efforts focused on retaining the current layout while integrating new elements that enhance the office’s functionality. This included the development of focus rooms, flexible breakout spaces, and dedicated areas for clients.By engaging Freeths’ team through collaborative workshops, DENTON ensured that the design was tailored to meet their specific requirements. The finished office is a modern and sleek environment featuring a neutral color scheme with bold accents that reflect Freeths’ distinct brand.
Highlights of the New Workspace
Central Hub: The Townhall Area
The centerpiece of the office is a flexible town hall area, conveniently situated next to the client zone. This multifunctional space supports training sessions, events, and social gatherings, and is equipped with a media screen, bleacher seating, and comfortable booths. It also acts as an extension of the kitchen area, fostering a strong sense of community among employees.Sophistication and Privacy: Meeting Rooms
Meeting rooms were upgraded with reeded manifestations and Crittall banding, providing both privacy and an elegant appearance. These design elements ensure a suitable atmosphere for confidential conversations and client meetings.Local Influences: Art and Materials
To give the office a local flavour, DENTON incorporated natural woods and other high-quality materials throughout the design. They collaborated with a Leeds University art student to introduce custom artwork, giving the space a unique character that resonates with the local community.Personal Connections: Unique Design Elements
A distinctive feature of the office is a suggestion box designed to look like a traditional postal box, which holds sentimental value for the Leeds team. This thoughtful design detail adds a layer of personal connection and historical significance to the office.
