Ikon Group and Design with Narrative collaborated to create a sophisticated workspace in London, blending continuity with unique design elements, inspired by the local industrial landscape and enhanced by strategic lighting.
After creating what was hailed as ‘the best office in Bristol’ for Alpha, the international financial services group once again entrusted Ikon to rise to similar heights for its latest fit-out project in Paddington, West London. This new workspace, intended for an Alpha subsidiary, required a delicate balance between design continuity from the Bristol project and the introduction of its own unique originality and authenticity.
Central to the project’s vision and character were standout areas such as the boardroom and reception, an auditorium, a 20-metre-long bar, and even a golf simulator room. These elements were crucial in crafting a distinctive environment that reflected both the subsidiary’s identity and the broader Alpha brand.
The design took inspiration from the industrial landscape of the local area, incorporating robust materials while softening the overall aesthetic with swathes of high-quality joinery. This juxtaposition created a warm and inviting atmosphere, adding a layer of sophistication to the space. The lighting design played a pivotal role, introducing drama and depth throughout the office, further enhancing the workplace’s dynamic feel.
The end result is a workspace that not only respects Alpha’s design legacy but also offers a fresh, engaging environment for its Paddington team.
