Risk Management Association Offices – Philadelphia
Meyer designed Risk Management Association’s Philadelphia headquarters with a focus on collaboration and flexibility, featuring a modern open-café design, technology-forward meeting spaces, and historical elements reflecting the firm’s 100-year history.
Meyer designed Risk Management Association’s (RMA) corporate headquarters to optimize collaboration and flexibility, creating a carefully curated destination workspace for the firm’s employees, clients, and board members returning to the office post-pandemic.
Inspired by innovation centers in the Philadelphia region, RMA’s approximately 6,000 sq. ft. headquarters embraces the principles of the transformed workplace, featuring an open-café design concept, technology-forward collaborative meeting spaces, and stylish, comfortable furniture and seating throughout. The office’s overall design prioritizes comfort and collaboration through a variety of shared spaces fitted with acoustic light fixtures, curved panels, and soft materials.
The new headquarters was uniquely designed without a reception desk at the entrance, aligning with the firm’s decision to transition to a hybrid work style; instead, employees and guests are greeted by great views of the city with an open cafe and seating area. There are several meeting spaces throughout the headquarters, including one large, main conference room with telescoping walls to accommodate meetings of varying sizes, a lounge-style meeting area with a fully-equipped AV system and sofa, an inviting fireplace for focus space, and a lounge/open-café concept space where employees can work independently or in groups with direct views of the Philadelphia. Ample amounts of natural light and a soft, natural palette compliment the comfortable seating areas found throughout the headquarters.
Acknowledging RMA’s 100-year history, Meyer incorporated elements of the firm’s past throughout the design, lining the walls of shared spaces with historic, hand-signed charters, photographs, and collections of books.
Meyer provided interior architecture, design, and workplace strategy services for this project, in addition to acting as the project manager.
