AZ Architects designed an eco-friendly, modern workplace in Ho Chi Minh City for BlueScope, emphasizing sustainability and employee well-being, with LEED Gold certification and a steel-inspired, flexible design concept.
BlueScope, a global leader in metal coating and painting for the building and construction sector, boasts a workforce of over 16,500 individuals across more than 160 sites in 15 countries, backed by over 160 years of industry expertise. Committed to fostering sustainable outcomes for their people and value chain while minimizing environmental impact, BlueScope entrusted AZ Architects with the design of a new workplace that aligns with these objectives.
The ambitious aim was to transform the representative office in Ho Chi Minh City into an eco-friendly, modern, and efficient environment that seamlessly integrates with BlueScope’s signature color palette. The design concept for BlueScope drew inspiration from the intrinsic curvature of steel, embodying themes of boundlessness and flexibility.
A significant highlight of this architectural endeavor is its achievement of LEED Gold (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, the world’s most widely used green building rating system. Achieving this distinction required AZ Architects to meticulously address all project parameters, secure specific regulatory approvals prior to construction, and uphold safety principles throughout the process. This certification stands as a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement, offering a framework for the creation of healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green buildings—principles that are central to BlueScope’s priorities.

By placing individuals at the heart of their operations, the company reflects this devotion in every detail designed to ensure a convenient and comfortable experience: Meeting rooms are soundproof, seating options such as bar stools and hot desks are tailored to enhance the employee experience through specific design criteria, and the mother room prioritizes comfort for nursing mothers.
