  • The Columbus, Ohio office location for Gilbane, one of the largest privately held and family owned construction and real estate development firms in the industry, celebrates the craft of construction and connection to the Columbus community through the creation of a people-first workplace. Located in the vibrant arts district of Columbus’s Franklinton neighborhood, the office features a blend of open and private workspaces, a work café, a social lounge, and a spacious visual design and technology studio.

Completed earlier this year, the 12,000 square foot space implemented space planning strategies combined with transparent interior finishes such as all-glass office fronts to maximize daylight throughout the office floorplate and foster employee connection and wellbeing. Personal touches highlight Gilbane’s people-first culture. The history wall showcases the extensive work Gilbane has completed in the Columbus region, highlighting the company’s local roots and industry leadership.

The interior pays homage to its established local presence, with a history wall that highlights Gilbane’s work in Central Ohio. Each conference room is named after one of Gilbane’s core values. Flexible meeting spaces support the value of teamwork and promote a variety of collaboration and work postures. The design leaves building construction elements exposed, masked, or reimagined to show the intersection between the modern office and the construction site. This connection is further emphasized throughout the office with framed views of Franklinton and downtown, symbolizing Gilbane’s contributions to the city’s built environment.
