Seven-Up Bottling Company Offices – Lagos
OTI.TO designed the Seven-Up Bottling Company office in Lagos with modern minimalism and vibrant energy, integrating wood, marble, and art to create a harmonious, functional, and culturally rich workspace.
Step into the SBC office, a space that harmoniously blends modern minimalism with vibrant energy appealing to the client’s interest in art and culture.
For this project, Oti.to studio focused on a design approach embodying clean lines with dynamic elements, seamlessly integrating materials like wood and marble to evoke warmth and character throughout the office. Each design choice and material selection tells a unique story, enhancing the organic aesthetic envisioned for the space.
The office space primarily accommodates a reception and waiting area, an executive assistant office, a private executive office with a breakout conference zone, a private lounge, a bar zone, a kitchen as well as private and public restrooms.
We open up the space with light oak wood and upbeat furniture color in the reception and waiting area, strategically introduced to infuse vitality, reflecting the client’s dynamic approach to work and innovation. In contract, the darker wood and richer tones were reserved for the private office and lounge area. We also showcase a series of art by Nigerian artists and wood sculptors, incorporating history, modernity, culture and social values as they relate to not just Africa today, but specifically Lagos, Nigeria.
To give the floor space a bigger presence, we optimized linear flow and functionality, while maintaining privacy for different areas, such as the thoughtful placement of the reception area as open and inviting, featuring a reception desk with seating for staff, with the waiting area directly adjacent to create a seamless transition spacious enough with comfortable seating as well as the private area positioned along the linear layout to provide a sense of separation from the public area.
Appealing to the client’s taste, Oti.to studio used a neutral material palette, including oak and walnut woodwork, white oak wood tile floors, black calacatta marble, neutral wallpaper, and textured carpet, thoughtfully chosen to create a balanced visual composition of materials and texture, bringing richness to the space. With wooden ceiling grid slates, plush carpeting, and rich wood wall features, we maintained the executive feel, injecting a pop of color in furniture, art, and accessories to create hints of energy and creativity.
The lighting design played a crucial role in enhancing the ambiance of the office. The modern light fixtures alongside the accent light of the built-in shelving units complemented the space, maintaining its appeal and functionality.
In essence, the SBC office space project embodies a harmonious blend of modern minimalism, sustainable practices, and functional elegance. It was designed to elevate work and overall well-being.
