Northbridge Insurance Offices – Montreal
Métaphore Design created a functional and spacious environment for Northbridge Insurance in Montreal, focusing on incorporating curvilinear shapes, warm wood tones, and refined details to promote well-being and reflect company values.
Northbridge Insurance, a leader in business insurance in Canada, has recently moved its headquarters to the iconic Place Ville-Marie in Montreal. This project aimed to create an environment of excellence that adheres to the company’s standards while personalizing spaces for the employees and promoting well-being for all occupants and visitors.
One of the main challenges during the planning phase was optimizing every square foot to maximize the available space. The goal was to integrate a significant number of workstations in the open areas without sacrificing comfort or flow. Through a thoughtful approach, every square foot was strategically utilized to create an environment that is both functional and spacious, where every element found its place.
The design, inspired by Northbridge’s logo, incorporates soft, curvilinear shapes that flow through the space. This is what guided the design of the custom-made reception desk, a sculpture of intersecting forms and curves.
The off-white tones, rich wood and soft palette chosen for the project create a serene ambiance. The space emanates feelings of tranquility and trust. Generous, grounded wooden arches create a warm and secure atmosphere, while the wood enveloping the walls and ceiling surrounds us, providing a sense of comfort in every corner.
Every detail is minutely calculated. Meandering ceiling lights are seamlessly integrated into the accent wood ceiling found in the common spaces. Subtle wallpapers, unique linework, and delicate bronze trims add a hint of refined simplicity.
This project embodies the vision of Northbridge Financial Corporation: a harmonious balance between functionality, well-being, and refinement. Each space has been designed to offer an experience that is both welcoming and practical, reflecting the company’s values and meeting the needs of all.
