  • Located in Berlin’s Dorotheenstadt, RTL Germany’s capital studio is home to around 400 staff producing editorial content for the TV channels RTL, n-tv, and Vox, with a focus on political coverage and daily news.

As part of a refurbishment project, Evolution Design was commissioned to modernise the workspace by strategically redefining functional areas, optimising spatial use, and conceptualising and designing new collaboration and socialising zones.

To support the fast-paced nature of the broadcasting industry, the redesign introduced touchdown areas, such as coffee points and meeting rooms, as well as strategically placed podcast studios, interview rooms, and production booths on every floor, ensuring close proximity to workspaces.

On the top floor, with panoramic views over Berlin, the main team hub forms the social heart of the RTL Berlin’s offices. The spacious kitchen, combined with a variety of seating arrangements, creates an inviting setting for team breakfasts, lunch breaks, and larger gatherings, fostering connection and collaboration.

    Cohesive Design Identity
Aesthetically, the workplace incorporates fresh colours, cosy elements, and contemporary design that seamlessly extends the RTL brand into an architectural space. Recurring wooden elements, soft textures, and both neutral and accent colours create a visually cohesive environment. The design also incorporates signature aesthetic elements found in other RTL locations, such as the Cologne office, fostering a sense of brand continuity and recognisability across different sites.

This sense of identity and representation of RTL is most prominently expressed in the ground-floor reception, where an elegantly designed double-height space serves as a grand entrance as well as a focal point, both during the day and at night. This representative reception establishes a welcoming and trustworthy atmosphere, making a lasting impression on employees and visitors alike.
