Block Licensed Interior Design Inc. collaborated with property management to design Allnorth’s new Calgary office, emphasizing functional needs, collaboration, adaptability, cost-efficiency, and brand identity, achieving a cohesive workspace for operational efficiency and growth.
Block Licensed Interior Design Inc. collaborated with the property management team to design Allnorth’s new Calgary office, a dynamic workspace that reflects the company’s culture while supporting operational efficiency and future growth.
The design brief called for a workspace that balanced the functional needs of each department with flexibility for collaboration and adaptability. Block worked closely with the property’s project manager, construction team, and Allnorth’s leadership to deliver a cohesive workplace within an expedited timeline.
A key design challenge was optimizing the existing layout while minimizing costs and still creating a space that felt like Allnorth’s brand and not the previous tenant’s. By retaining and adapting existing partitions and glazing, the team reduced construction expenses and construction schedule without compromising on design quality. An existing standout feature of the space—the hot rolled steel paneled wall—was thoughtfully modified. It’s previous iteration enclosed the entry area from the rest of the space as well as exterior glazing/natural light. The new design included for a middle section being removed to create a more open and inviting reception area while preserving the industrial aesthetic that resonates with Allnorth’s brand.
Allnorth’s brand identity is woven throughout the office with carefully selected finishes and detailed elements. New shared staff-centric spaces, collaborative zones, and all-new furniture and workstations enhance the company’s positive and dynamic culture, creating a workplace that not only meets current operational needs but also fosters innovation and growth for years to come.
