Rainbow Housing Offices – Pune
Designworkz’s Rainbow Housing Offices in Pune harmoniously blend modernity and tradition, transforming the workspace with expansive natural light and a curated aesthetic that fosters both collaboration and individual well-being.
The client’s brief was crystal clear — they envisioned a workspace that felt bright, open, and markedly different from the previous office layout, which we were tasked with renovating. Our challenge was to retain the functionality required for a growing business while infusing the space with an elevated, timeless aesthetic that felt grounded yet fresh.
We started by establishing a palette that would evoke subtle luxury without overpowering the senses. Classic American walnut formed the base of our material selection, offering warmth and depth. This was paired with black and white marble that added a sophisticated contrast, anchoring the design in a sense of understated opulence. These materials gave the space a solid foundation while allowing us to build upon it with intentional design interventions.
One of the key assets of the office was an adjoining terrace — an element that had previously been underutilized and blocked off, severely limiting the inflow of natural light. Recognizing the potential of this feature, we opened up the periphery and replaced solid walls with a full-height glass façade. This single move dramatically transformed the spatial experience, allowing daylight to pour into the office and reach even the farthest corners of the floorplate.
To maintain a sense of openness while still addressing the client’s conservative work culture, we took a layered approach to spatial planning. Taller enclosed spaces — such as cabins and meeting rooms — were placed along the edges, while the core remained open and airy, populated with workstations. This helped preserve visual transparency and encouraged collaboration, all while respecting privacy and hierarchy.
To bring soul and personality into the space, we introduced large indoor plants and a curated selection of artwork. These elements humanised the environment, making it more conversational and interactive. The client’s strong belief in Vastu and Jain philosophy inspired the placement and themes of the art. Key walls featured subtle, symbolic references that aligned with both the spiritual and directional principles important to the client, without feeling overtly thematic.
The result is a workspace that is both serene and dynamic — a thoughtful blend of modern design language and traditional workspace sensibilities. It encourages productivity while supporting the emotional and spiritual well-being of the people who inhabit it every day.
