Hartamas Design Associates has transformed the Ocean Network Express Offices in Shah Alam into a dynamic workspace that embodies maritime heritage and collaborative spirit, reinforcing the company’s global identity with striking design elements.
Ocean Network Express (ONE) has unveiled its new Malaysia headquarters in i-City, Shah Alam — a workspace designed by Hartamas Design Associates that reflects the company’s global identity, maritime heritage, and people-first culture.
Set within a building shaped like a ship’s bow, the office tells a clear story of journey and purpose. Upon entering the main lobby, visitors are greeted by the bold presence of the ONE brand and a striking full-ceiling LED screen. This digital display serves as a platform for welcome messages, corporate visuals, and marketing content — reinforcing ONE’s dynamic, tech-enabled identity.
Throughout the office, subtle yet meaningful details reflect ONE’s values and cultural roots. The Seigaiha wave motif — a traditional Japanese pattern representing growth, resilience, and continuity — is applied as privacy glass stickers across meeting rooms and work areas. This unifying element provides visual rhythm and discreet separation without interrupting the office’s openness.
Meeting spaces are designed for focus and flexibility, while The Bridge — ONE’s boardroom — draws inspiration from maritime command centers. The ceiling features a cosmic wave pattern, and the table, shaped like a ship’s deck, is paired with container-inspired benches. It’s a space for leadership, direction, and collaboration.
The Ocean Room is a standout feature of the office. Its design simulates the view from a cruise ship deck, complete with a sunrise scene and a silhouetted ONE vessel across the horizon. A cruise-style window graphic on the wall adds a realistic touch, inviting moments of pause and inspiration — a daily reminder of new beginnings and limitless horizons.
Executive rooms are positioned to take in panoramic views of surrounding mountains. Behind each desk, a halftone mountain graphic forms a striking visual backdrop, crafted entirely from the letters “O,” “N,” and “E” in the company’s font. The effect is subtle, sophisticated, and deeply tied to ONE’s brand identity — symbolizing vision, strength, and stability.
In the open-plan workspace, employees are surrounded by vibrant zones of Pandan Green, Mandarin Orange, and Royal Purple. These colors speak to sustainability, care, and communication — core values of the organization. Two casual coffee corners are integrated within the space, encouraging employees to take short breaks, recharge, and connect informally throughout the day.
The pantry and multipurpose hall serve as the social heart of the office. A wavy ceiling feature adds motion and energy, while the sand-like floor tiles ground the space in a natural, coastal tone. The counter’s backsplash and center round column are finished in ocean-blue mosaic tiles, adding texture and color. A feature wall made from rigged shipping container panels — painted in ONE’s iconic magenta — highlights the company’s core industry in a bold, unmistakable way. Overhead, a suspended ONE symbol in corporate-colored neon, complete with RGB lighting, brings a vibrant, modern finish.
With this Shah Alam office, Hartamas Design Associates has delivered more than just a workspace — they’ve crafted a symbolic vessel of unity, vision, and growth. ONE’s identity comes alive in every detail, setting the stage for a future defined by purpose and possibility.
