Mula Design Studio’s Shiseido Indonesia offices in Jakarta harmoniously blend innovative design with Japanese aesthetics, creating a nurturing and inspiring environment that reflects the brand’s commitment to beauty and sustainability.
As one of the world’s leading cosmetics and skincare companies, Shiseido has built a legacy of excellence rooted in innovation, well-being, and Japanese aesthetics. With a deep appreciation for beauty not only in products but also in the environments they inhabit, they envisioned a workplace that not only supports productivity and collaboration for their employees but also reflects its timeless commitment to beauty, mindfulness, and innovation influenced by nature, simplicity, and harmony.
By responding to Shiseido’s belief in commitment to nurturing the individual—not just as an employee, but as a person, we introduce the interior concept of “Everyday Space”. Making the office feel more like a living, breathing environment where employees can feel at ease, inspired, and truly themselves. Integrating elements typically found in daily life: warm lighting, natural textures, soft seating areas, and flexible collaborative space.
The office design is also resonates strongly with Shiseido’s global mission, “Beauty innovations for a better world,” which emphasizes the power of beauty to bring positive change not just aesthetically, but along with purposeful design and sustainable approach. For this project we incorporates Shiseido’s own product waste—such as used packaging and beauty containers to be repurposed as decorative wall features. The hanging red camellia flower suspended in the lobby also a subtle yet powerful nod to Shiseido’s brand heritage. The camellia, or “Tsubaki,” symbolizes strength, elegance, and timeless beauty, echoing the company’s Japanese roots while welcoming guests with a bold, unique, and meaningful visual identity.
The Shiseido Jakarta office is more than just a workspace—it’s a daily reminder of the brand’s purpose: to create beauty that inspires, connects, and contributes to a better world.
