XIVO DESIGN Offices – Shenzhen
Matrix Design’s XIVO DESIGN offices in Shenzhen creatively transforms a 5-story complex into a vibrant, boundary-less headquarters reflecting Generation Z’s individuality through psychedelic colors and fluid, adaptable spaces.
This design concept reimagines space through the lens of 1980s psychedelic rock, high-saturation colors, and a metallic futuristic aesthetic, creating a blurred and contradictory spatial form. Tailored for Generation Z—those born after 1995 who value individuality, rich experiences, and quality—the design reflects their unorthodox lifestyles and refusal to be confined by definitions or labels.
Located in the Zhiheng Industrial Park, a strategic hub for emerging industries in Shenzhen’s Nanshan District, the project transforms a 5-story old office complex into a dynamic new headquarters. With Matrix leading the space planning, concept design, and fine detailing, the space embodies a bold and unconventional character.
The design begins at the main entrance and street-facing façade, where red-plated bricks and South China coconut trees create an iconic aesthetic. This combination evokes a nostalgic yet futuristic vibe, reminiscent of 1980s Hawaiian beaches and classic disco scenes. The entrance becomes a striking statement piece, offering a sense of identity and a memorable visual cue.
Inside, the space emphasizes fluidity, lightness, and boundary-free design. Red curtains symbolize the passion for life and a rebellious “punk wellness” attitude, while the overall layout resists rigid definitions, creating an adaptable environment that suits the dynamic nature of its users.
Through this design, the headquarters becomes a vibrant, immersive setting that aligns with the values of Generation Z—individuality, creativity, and the pursuit of bold, unfiltered experiences.
