Waterbridge Resources Offices – Houston
Abel Design Group reimagined the Waterbridge Resources offices in Houston, crafting a vibrant, relationship-focused workspace that embodies the company’s culture through innovative design and sustainable materials.
Abel Design Group transformed one and a half floors of Waterbridge’s Houston office into a dynamic, relationship-driven workspace designed to reflect the company’s welcoming culture and “work hard, play hard” philosophy.
At the heart of the design is a monumental stair connecting the 11th and 12th floors, creating a seamless pathway from the reception area to the control room, where guests gain real-time insight into Waterbridge’s operations. The office features a balanced mix of open lounges, focus rooms, and collaborative zones to foster productivity and connection. Common areas such as the break room and lounge make employees and visitors feel at home, while the golf simulator room, ping pong tables, and shuffleboard reflect the company’s playful spirit.
Sustainability influenced material choices, including Mohawk Waterways Carpet used throughout the project. Custom furniture was blended with repurposed pieces from Waterbridge’s previous space, coordinated with the furniture dealer to ensure a cohesive aesthetic. The design also elevated existing architectural elements by polishing the concrete slab and exposing the painted metal deck ceiling, working closely with the MEP engineer to ensure ductwork and utilities were clean and intentional.
Key challenges included integrating a 24/7 control room, requiring extensive coordination with consultants and trades, and managing a mid-project lease expansion amid supply chain constraints and a rigid timeline. Through close collaboration and agile problem-solving, the Abel Design Group team successfully delivered the additional space without compromising quality or schedule.
The result is a high-performance, engaging environment that reflects Waterbridge’s culture and operations while supporting future growth. Blending functionality, collaboration, and play, the renovated office creates a workplace experience tailored to how Waterbridge connects, works, and thrives.
