Kuehne + Nagel Offices – Auckland
Cachet Group’s Kuehne + Nagel offices in Auckland redefine the workplace, fostering collaboration and connection through a design that embraces fluidity, natural light, and sustainable practices exemplary of the company’s vision for the future.
A workplace reimagined – not just for how Kuehne + Nagel works today, but for how they want to lead into the future.
After 15 years in their previous workspace, global logistics leader Kuehne + Nagel partnered with Cachet to design and deliver a new environment that better reflects their people, culture, and ambitions. The existing fitout no longer supported evolving ways of working: long, narrow floorplates and enclosed rooms created silos and disconnection. The new design set out to reverse this – creating a workplace that connects, engages, and supports employees at every level.
By mapping team dynamics and departmental interactions, Cachet reshaped the workplace from isolated zones into a fluid, collaborative setting. New visual links across the floorplates enhance lines of sight and circulation, while carefully zoned departments encourage natural flow and interaction. Leaders stepped out of traditional offices and into the heart of the workspace, increasing proximity to their teams while still maintaining access to private focus areas.
A central breakout zone now serves as the social anchor of the workplace – a hub for informal exchange, collaboration, and connection. This is complemented by a reimagined outdoor terrace, extending opportunities for teams to gather in a more open and dynamic setting.
The palette draws on the surrounding New Zealand landscape and light, pairing soft, tactile finishes with muted reinterpretations of Kuehne + Nagel’s brand colours. A sculptural ceiling feature evokes sunlight breaking through clouds – a gesture to the movement of sea and sky, echoing the company’s identity as a global logistics provider.
Where possible, existing furniture was reused, reflecting Kuehne + Nagel’s commitment to environmental responsibility and respect for resources. The transformation extends beyond project completion, with Cachet Care providing ongoing support to ensure the workplace continues to evolve alongside its people.
This is a workplace reimagined – designed not only for how Kuehne + Nagel works today, but for how they want to grow into tomorrow.
