Peaksware Offices – Denver
Abel Design Group’s Peaksware offices in Denver transforms the workspace into a vibrant, collaborative environment reflecting the company’s culture and values, while seamlessly integrating functionality and employee engagement.
After acquiring several music and athletic software brands, Peaksware set out to transform its office into Peaksware 2.0—an environment that truly reflected its employees, brands, and philosophies. Moving from a dark, piecemealed space, the goal was to create a forward-looking workplace that balanced identity, collaboration, and long-term relevance.
The design process began with conceptualizing attributes that represented Peaksware’s culture from both an employee and brand perspective. Because each brand had distinct focuses, the design strategy relied on innuendo rather than literal references. This came alive through details such as tire tread outlines in custom window film, a topographic tile backsplash, and acoustic light fixtures resembling bike tires—all subtle nods to the company’s athletic and music-driven DNA.
Planning placed enclosed spaces at the core, ensuring that all workstations and rooms had access to natural light. As the pandemic began mid-design, the team adopted an activity-based model with a more flexible, unilateral use of space. Collaboration was prioritized while incorporating safety features, including taller divider panels, touchless lockers, and room reservation systems. A large outdoor patio adjacent to the breakroom, complete with garage doors and accordion windows, reinforced the connection to the outdoors and provided a multifunctional gathering area.
To deepen employee engagement, a local artist collaborated with staff to create murals at each entrance, infusing positive energy and inspiration into the office. A fitness room was added for group exercise, yoga, and on-site software testing, while a purpose-built music studio allowed employees to record podcasts, training demos, and original music.
The result is a collaborative, culturally centric workplace that embodies Peaksware’s energy, creativity, and spirit of innovation—an office environment that represents not only who the company is today, but also where it is headed.
