  • The Family Institute (TFI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals and families with the resources they need on their healing journeys. Seeking a space that would better align with this mission, TFI found 444 N. Michigan, with its peaceful river and lake views, ample natural light, and the privacy it required – They immediately knew it was the ideal location to support their clients’ pathway to health and growth.

BOX was honored to design a built environment that facilitates such meaningful work. Drawing on Evidence-Based Design research we conducted, we carefully selected materials, lighting, furniture, and acoustics to integrate biophilia, foster collaboration, instill a feeling of safety, and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. Consistent elements like greenery, wayfinding in the form of lighting, organic curves, and an earth-inspired palette brought this vision to life, creating a calm haven for all users to experience.
