At its heart, the design is a layered narrative that honours First Nations Wurundjeri traditions, channels Melbourne’s vibrant urban character, and reflects KBR’s collaborative spirit. Bespoke joinery traces the flow of the Birrarung, lighting features recall woven fishing baskets, and tactile, locally sourced materials ground the space in authenticity and connection to place.

From woven shadows to river-shaped joinery, every design element does more than look beautiful, it tells a story of place, people, and purpose, woven into the fabric of KBR’s new home.

Spanning two floors, the workplace is unified by a central hub that dissolves boundaries and encourages informal connection. This hub pulses with activity, shifting effortlessly between moments of focus, casual conversation, and large-scale gatherings. Distinct zones support collaboration, concentration, and quiet retreat, enhanced by high-performing acoustics, abundant natural light, and intuitive wayfinding.

Sustainability is embedded throughout, with reused furniture, low-impact finishes, and energy-efficient systems reflecting long-term environmental care and responsibility.

This is a workplace of depth and clarity, where culture isn’t represented on the walls, but built into them. A place that honours heritage, amplifies diverse voices, and inspires pride, wellbeing, and belonging.
